2004 Grant Recipients

In 2004, the Wyoming Women's Foundation provided grants to 14 non-profit organizations across Wyoming, totaling over $50,000. Following are examples of grants awarded.

Comea, Inc. Funding to allow staff of this homeless shelter to attend a transitional housing program training in Denver $2,000
Community Safety Network Funding to allow staff of this safe house to attend a transitional housing program training in Denver $2,500
Girls Actively Participating Funding for their after school programming targeting seventh and eight grade girls to enhance networking, relationship building and self-esteem building exercises $2,620
Healthmap/El Puente Program to benefit medical interpretation and support services for maternal, infant and child health care $7,500
Laramie County Adolescent Health Program Program dealing with teen sexuality, pregnancy prevention and reproductive health $5,000
Laramie County Community College Emergency funding to fill a gap left by the departure of Carl Perkins Vocational funding for their Transitional Services Program for women $5,000
Project Safe Funding for planning materials for an area woman-to-woman mentoring program $3,500
Sheridan College Funding for the emergency needs component of their Transitional Services program for female students $5,000
Women’s Self Help Center Funding to allow staff of this safe house to attend a transitional housing program training in Denver $2,000
Women’s Studies Department at U.W. Funding to initiate establishment of a scholarship program in the Women’s Studies department for women from Wyoming $5,000
Wyoming Council on Women’s Issues Funding for a program relating to young girls with eating disorders to be presented in Rock Springs, Cheyenne and Jackson $2,000
Wyoming Substance Abuse Treatment and Recovery Center Funding for a one of a kind research project addressing the special needs of women with addiction problems $5,000
Wyoming Women’s Business Center Funding for integrated client and loan management software for their micro-loan program.  95% of participants in this program are Wyoming women $5,000
