2002 Grant Recipients

In 2002, the Women's Foundation granted $45,800 to organizations across Wyoming that share its mission. Below is a synopsis of 2002 awards:

Grant Recipient Purpose Amount
Advocacy for Visual Arts, Inc. With a $7,800 grant the AVA/Georgia O'Keeffe Leadership Program for Girls enabled 5 th , 6 th , and 7 th grade young women in Gillette to better develop independent thinking and leadership skills. $7,800
Community Children’s Project This $3,000 grant allowed this Jackson organization to maintain their short-term emergency service fund, offering financial assistance to women in crisis situations. $3,000
Girls Actively Participating A $2,500 grant was used in the continuation of a program, in Moose Wyoming, that allows adolescent girls to skillfully participate in outdoor activities while developing independence and self-reliance. $2,500
Health Services of Campbell County A $10,000 grant offered continued support to this organization’s highly successful “Think it Over Program” geared toward educating young women about reproductive services. $10,000
Jubilee House, Inc. The $7,500 grant was used to support operating costs of Wyoming’s only remedial house for women, working toward effecting a long-term change for selected individuals released from the Wyoming Women’s Center. $7,500
Laramie County Community College The $5,000 grant was used to support a program that works to identify and meet the emergency needs of women from all walks of life that are pursuing college degrees. $5,000
Wyoming League of Women Voters This $10,000 grant was used by collaborating organizations to support “Information is Power,” a program that provides workshops and newsletters to inform the public about important women’s issues in Wyoming. $10,000
