Help us honor Wyoming's Women
Wyoming women have been blazing trails since the first woman that came across the prairie before we were a state.  We can boast the first state to grant suffrage, the first woman governor, the first all women jury and the first town run by all women.

Keeping with this spirit, the Wyoming Women's Foundation is producing its first book commemorating women trail blazers, in partnership with the Casper Star-Tribune, entitled; Blazing Trails: A Tribute to Women Who Have Set Wyoming Ablaze.

The project will profile women who will be identified through a state-wide process. One profile will run each week in the state-wide Casper Star-Tribune. Through the Star-Tribune's Newspapers in Education program, these profiles will find their way into classrooms all over the state. A compilation of all 52 profiles will be available in limited quantities as a hardcover and soft cover book.

The process of choosing those to be profiled will be very productive for the Wyoming Women's Foundation and good for Wyoming women in general. A cross section of our communities will be asked to consider, define and identify a wide variety of women with the values and characteristics that we admire and wish to promote in Wyoming girls. These will be discussed and lists compiled in four regional meetings. The final choices will be made based on a balanced presentation and availability of the individuals. In any case those profiled will be from across the state.
We ask that you think about the women in your sphere of influence who have affected the quality of life in your community; on a state board that has made some sort of policy; served unselfishly for an entity dedicated to the betterment of the world; continued to work despite some serious illness--such as cancer--or has raised a family single handedly.
Please submit a name and brief explanation of how this woman fits with the mission of our project to Richelle@wycf.org and we will contact you for more information.
