Putting Women's Equality in the Equality State

Gap?  What gap?  Incase you haven't heard, Wyoming has the largest gender wage gap in the nation.  But in true cowgirl fashion, women across the state are grabbing the reigns and working to even the score.   The Wyoming Women's Foundation is proud to support a number of organizations that are taking creative approaches to close the gender wage gap.

We support a number of projects that focus on educating and promoting the economic self-sufficiency of women across the state.  At the forefront of this effort is the WAGE (Women Are Getting Even) project.  The WAGE project focuses on helping women from all walks of life understand how to benchmark salaries and negotiate a fair salary.  It's easy to promote this project, anyone interested can contact us at info@wywf.org and we can work together to close the gap in our great state.    Don't think you can make a difference?  Think again.  Read about Christy Etheridge and the impact she is making on the gap in Evanston.  Turn your eyes to the UW Outreach School and learn about the Wyoming Women's Foundation/Edelweiss Opportunity Scholarship for single parents.  Celebrate the success and joy of Women Build with Habitat for Humanity.

Its easy to make a difference for the women in Wyoming.  We make it even easier.  By supporting us you are investing in prosperity for the entire state.  Celebrate Equal Pay Day with us and celebrate the women in your life.

Equal Pay Day is coming up!  Celebrate the fight to close the wage gap on April 28, 2009
The National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE) created Equal Pay Day in 1996 as an effort to raise public awareness about the gender wage gap in the U.S.  According to the NCPE, "The day symbolizes how far into the year a woman must work, on average, to earn as much as a man earned the previous year."  More>
